'Øfdream' releases Anthology Pt.1 EP

Anthology Pt.1 EP boasts Øfdream’s forward thinking production skills, placing him as one of the leaders and pioneers in the groundbreaking new wave scene.

Øfdream’s forays into production began with early experiments in progressive house. Dabbling in hip-hop and creating new sounds and textures, his sound began to take shape akin to garage, dark-melodious trap and heavy alternative electronic inspired music by which he was influenced. The result is a remarkable body of work with groundbreaking, immersive tracks such as ‘Thelema’ and ‘Fallen Angel’, which paint a vibrant picture of glacial landscapes amidst gleaming, shimmering desert sands. Øfdream channels these fantasies into a spellbinding actuality of vivid and lush textures by creating deep, provocative atmospheres and hooks.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as Nothing Here, Klimeks, Lorn, The Prodigy, Massive Attack and Missingno – it’s no coincidence that Øfdream has received  over 3 million plays via Soundcloud and Youtube, and more recently, has shared stages with the likes of Vitalic, Com Truise and Lorn at Electric Brixton.

Anthology Pt.1 EP Tracklist:

01 – Thelema
02 – Fallen Angel
03 – First Woe
04 – Ninth Gate

Music Producer CHVRN releases his lastest EP 'Drowned'

CHVRN has just released his latest EP Drowned, via The Playground Records.

The Russian electronic producer derived his name from Charn, the city in C. S Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia. The sound of CHVRN has roots in 80’s new wave and synth, but  is inspired by a variety of genres: modern wave, post rock and witch house.

CHVRN became interested in music when he acquired his first guitar ten years ago. In 2011 he started the 8bit/chiptune project “Reboot Me” and has since garnered over 6 million Youtube views, shared stages with the likes of Dita Redrum, Gnothi Seauton. He has shared the stage with the likes of  IC3PEAK and has collaborated with Polish wave producer MYSTXRIVL. His remixes include tracks for a string of USA artists including Aesthetic Perfection and GenCAB.

He is actively involved in Russia’s witch house scene, an occult-themed dark electronic music microgenre and visual aesthetic that emerged in the late 2000s and early 2010s, and has become infamous for underground raves and wave music parties, especially in Russia over the past several years.

The EP has a strong atmospheric sound, combined with spatterings of modern hip-hop and EDM rhythms.

Says CHVRN, “This EP marks a final step in my journey since my first release. It’s the endpoint of a chapter which has seen me research the new edges of my sound. Just dreamy vibes, secret thoughts and embracing the spirit of my city.”

EP Tracklist:
01. Secrets
02. Mirror Fields
03. Tell Me
04. Melancholy
05. Lost
06. Still Yours

XXYYXX breaks his silence with a new track ft. $K

Marcel Everett, better known as XXYYXX has emerged after a two-year silence. Following his last release Red, the electronic producer has just released the first half of a two-track project ‘I Don’t’ featuring rapper $K.

In the past, XXYYXX has produced remixes for artists such as Tinashe and Usher, created the track ‘What We Want’ for the video game Grand Theft Auto V, and headlined the Noise Pop Festival in 2013. Although he has not released any music over the two-year period, he has spent most of 2016 touring the US playing festival gigs such as Ancient Future and the Shambhala Festival. He has also been working on a collaboration with Melbourne vocalist Vanessa Elisha for the R&B track ‘Dark & Lonely’ released earlier this year.

Dark and moody, ‘I Don’t’ gives off a sinister feel, synonymous with Everett’s signature style. Rapper $K handles vocal duties and adds to the trap-injected production, featuring some definitive wave-inspiration along the likes of artists featured on the infamous youtube channel FOMH, accompanied by gloomy lyrics about drugs and living life in the ‘fast lane’.  The combination of rumbling synth bass, snippets of pitched vocals and hints of electric guitar gives off a more mature sound.

While there may be no news of a new album, XXYYXX has announced North American tour accompanied by Chrome Sparks.

DAS MÖRTAL releases his forthcoming album 'Always Loved'

Canadian Cristobal Cortes, aka DAS MÖRTAL releases his forthcoming album “Always Loved” today via Lisbon Lux Records. DAS MÖRTAL has won legions of fans from both the synthwave and techno scenes, weaving together synth pad compositions that perfectly embody the rich melancholy and delicate fantasy of the 1980s. With the release of his first album, Always Loved (via Lisbon Lux Records), DAS MÖRTAL looks set to continue a rise that has seen him perform at festivals such as Transmusicales and Osheaga, and share the stage with the likes of Perturbator, Carpenter Brut, Gost, Danger, Dan Terminus, Tommy’86 and Le Matos.

DAS MÖRTAL’s previous notable release titled Hotline Miami 2 has reached nearly 1 million streams on Spotify, in the wake of which DAS MÖRTAL did his first trip to Europe, endearing himself to the fresh, vibrant contemporary Berlin techno scene. Counting influences from the 80s (Depeche Mode and Skinny Puppy) and 90s (The Chemical Brothers, Aphex Twin and Boards Of Canada), DAS MÖRTAL’s individual style brings together the best elements of Berlin’s techno scene and 80s movie soundtracks: driving beats and rich, expansive synths.

Produced with the help of French Fox (one half of Lisbon Lux Records, and who has previously aided bands such as Le Couleur and Beat Market), Always Loved is a moody, emotive album full of rubbery arpeggiated synths and explosive drum hits. Single lead and video ‘Midnight Rendez-Vous’ (ft. French Fox) is illustrative of the album’s edgy, playful appeal: a club-ready track about going out on the town that is synched to images detailing an explosive, Natural Born Killers-style relationship between balaclava-wearing lovers.

“Always Loved” is available as a 10-track CD and digital release, and as a 12-track vinyl release, stream it below.
